Swedish Singers on Bluebell CDs
The Bluebell record label is justly famous for its issues of the live
performances of the great tenor Jussi Bjorling. However, Bluebell is doing
vocal collectors a great service by presenting other great Swedish singers
on CD. Here are a few notes about several titles in the "Great Swedish
Singers" series.
Haydn,
his mistress, their son, and his successor
The exciting young clarinet quartet "Kwartet
Andre" have just released their CD of music by Haydn, Polzelli and
Hummel. Clarinettist Nicole Harris, one of three Australian members of
the Netherlands-based quartet, has given us a profile of the quartet,
plus fascinating background information about the music to be heard on
this beautiful CD. This CD is available in our on-line store.
Piano
Solo
Pianist Albert Sassmann writes about his new CD,
"Piano Solo", recently issued on the Preiser Records label.
The CD contains music by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Berg and Ravel. It
